(en anglais, of course!)

OK! Mag: We are a bit jealous about the fact that you worked with David Bowie...

Rachel Shelley: I had to do scenes with him for Everyone Loves Sunshine, when I was tied up and being held hostage. In the film he rescues me, but in between takes he'd ask me if I wanted him to untie me and because it took so long I said no, so he gave me a massage instead!

OK: You're such a lucky girl!

RS: I used to have a crush on him when I was a kid. It was bizarre but brilliant.

OK: You've also been to the Oscars...

RS: I only found out that I could go the morning of the ceremony - and I was hungover! I didn't have any time to prepare and actually went with wet hair!

OK: Was it everything you thought it'd be?

RS: It was pretty incredible, but I would have enjoyed it more if I'd had time to prepare. And because I was on my own, I made friends with a couple next to me who had been going for years and they fed me snacks during the breaks as it's a long night.

OK: The L Word is back for its final season. It must have been hard to film?

RS: Yeah it was. It's the longest job I've ever had and on location you become very close with everyone.

OK: Will people be able to follow it, even if they haven't seen the show before?

RS: What's great is that it's being filmed as a miniseries, centred around a murder mystery, so you don't have to have seen all the previous episodes.

OK: Your character's a bit of a bitch, isn't she?

RS: Well, she has a lot of money and therefore power and arrogance.

OK: She wears some amazing clothes...

RS: At the end of every season, there was a wardrobe sale and you had first dibs on everything you wore. But because I played a millionaire it was very high-end, so I couldn't really afford it.

OK: How was it being an English actress making it big in America?

RS: In England I'd played sweet, vulnerable girls and then as soon as I went to the States I was cast as girls who were slightly bitter or selfish. I hadn't changed, it was the perception of me that they had.

OK: Were you typecast or stereotyped as a British actress?

RS: The one thing people definitely presume with the accent is that you're much better educated. It's quite funny really, you just have to go with it.
